Blackfoot River Fishing Report – 5/23

Clark Fork River Fishing Report - 4/19Beginning in April, once a week we will post a brief description of a rig we saw during the previous week that had one of our Kingfisher stickers on the window. When you recognize it as being your car described in our hatch report, stop into the shop and pick out 2 dozen nymphs or dries on us!!

We should see The Blackfoot make another jump in flows with the warm weather. It’s running dirty and high (over 8000). Lakes around this area will be better options. Blanchard Lake, Harpers Lake, Seeley Lake, Lake Inez, Upsata Lake, etc. Take some Woolly Buggers and assorted nymph patterns. A parachute adams, purple hazes or Goddard caddis’ should work on top. Have some longer leaders with you if you’re fishing still water.

If you own and iPad 1 or 2, we have 6 MFC original iPad covers to give away. The first people through the door get’em!!! If you come in with a kingfisher tattoo on your forehead you can have two!!!

Browns Lake is iced off, open and fishing well. However, the private land owners surrounding Browns Lake are now enforcing there NO trespass rights. All the bank fishing with the exception of the public land at the south and east sides of the lake is now closed to walking. We have provided a map showing the property lines and places to legally access the lake. The boundaries highlighted with green are open to the public.
