Blackfoot River Fishing Report – 6/10

L-salmon-1The Blackfoot is plummeting quick with the warmer weather and mild run off we had.  With the peak of high water over, and the water conditions getting nothing but better, The dry fly fishing has really taken off.  Salmon flies have started hatching in good numbers along with golden stones, Yellow Sallies, PMDs, Baetis, And Caddis.  Definitely be prepared with a good quiver of dry flies cause it’s coming off!  streamers and nymphs have also been working well underneath during the slow times mid day.  For dries use Chernobyls, Stimulators, Rogue stones, half downs, bullet heads, parachute adams, purple hazes and elk hair caddis.  For nymphs use Pat’s rubber legs, princes, double beaded stones, micro stones, San Juan worms and batman nymphs.  For streamers use big dark double bunnies, sculpzillas, mouthwashes, standard buggers, sparkle minnows and dark articulated patterns.
