Blackfoot River Fishing Report – 6/12

L-salmonBeginning in April, once a week we will post a brief description of a rig we saw during the previous week that had one of our Kingfisher stickers on the window. When you recognize it as being your car described in our hatch report, stop into the shop and pick out 2 dozen nymphs or dries on us!!Streamers are the name of the game right now.  The Blackfoot is still approaching historical flows with decent drops everyday.  However the clarity still needs some improving.  The flow at Bonner is sitting around 5400 cfs.  Use big dark streamers like black wool head sculpins and mouthwashes and fish them close to the banks and deep. For nymphs, tandem rigs under an indicator would be your best bet. Expect San Juan worms, double beaded stones, micro stones, pat’s rubber legs and prince nymphs to perform the best for you subsurface.
