Blackfoot River Fishing Report – 6/14

Fly Fishing Missoula

L-DSCN1967

We’ve started catching some fish up on the Blackfoot, but we’re still suffering from dirty water and higher flows, now around 5500cfs. Dry fly stuff is VERY spotty. Stick to things under the surface, and maybe consider fishing somewhere else until it really gets going. Use big dark streamers like black wool head sculpins and mouthwashes. For nymphs, tandem rigs under an indicator would be your best bet. Use San Juan worms, double beaded stones, micro stones, pat’s rubber legs and prince nymphs.
