Blackfoot River Fishing Report – 7/20

Rock Creek Fishing Report - 3/25

Although driving up the Blackfoot can often times spare one from the Missoula inversion, such is not the case with attempts to escape the present smoke. Much of the state is under a blanket from the surrounding fires. That being said, fishing has been consistently great on the Blackfoot so far this summer, with tons of dry fly action. The best setup is still the dry/dropper rig, but single dries have been doing good work too. For dries use Chernobyls, Stimulators, Rogue stones, half downs, bullet heads, parachute adams, purple hazes and elk hair caddis. For nymphs use Pat’s rubber legs, princes, double beaded stones, micro stones, San Juan worms and batman nymphs. For streamers use big dark double bunnies, sculpzillas, mouthwashes, standard buggers, sparkle minnows and dark articulated patterns.
