Blackfoot River Fishing Report – 7/31

Blackfoot River Fishing Report - 3/13 - sage one fly rod

quig-rc-3

The Blackfoot is seeing some great spruce moth hatches lately.  Big pale or tan colored elk hair caddis’ in a size 10 works great for’em.  Hoppers are also starting to make an appearance. The river is fishing well all day with good water temps which makes this a great option for today.  For dries use big elk hair caddis, spruce moth patterns, hoppers, Chernobyls, Stimulators, Rogue stones, half downs, bullet heads, parachute adams, and purple hazes. For nymphs use Pat’s rubber legs, princes, double beaded stones, micro stones, San Juan worms and batman nymphs. For streamers use big dark double bunnies, sculpzillas, mouthwashes, standard buggers, sparkle minnows and dark articulated patterns.
