Blackfoot River Fishing Report – 7/6

Simms Wading Boots

L-DSC_0174The Blackfoot is on a big drop, down to a little below 3000cfs. Even with the additional pressure it’s been receiving, it is fishing well. We’ve been seeing good numbers of golden stones, yellow sallies, BWOs and caddis. Salmon flies will still catch fish, but they’re fading out. The best fishing is still right off the banks in the softer water. For dries use Chernobyls, Stimulators, Rogue stones, half downs, bullet heads, parachute adams, purple hazes and elk hair caddis.  For nymphs use Pat’s rubber legs, princes, double beaded stones, micro stones, San Juan worms and batman nymphs.  For streamers use big dark double bunnies, sculpzillas, mouthwashes, standard buggers, sparkle minnows and dark articulated patterns.
