Blackfoot River Fishing Report – 8/28

Rock Creek Fishing Report - 4/1The Blackfoot is still fishing well all day long including the evenings, which are now open.  Unfortunately, the Tributaries all close at 2pm still so make sure you’re prepared for that.  With that said, and fall quickly approaching, the fishing is picking up with every cooler night.  For the mornings, you can expect a smattering of PMDs, Hecubas, and Tricos.  Through the afternoon heat, a hopper dropper rig has been working best but a solo Parachute adams has been getting good surface action too.  Streamers have been a fun option as well through the deeper pools and runs, where the big fish are holding.  Big articulated junk and sparkle minnows have been the best choices so far.  The evening fishing has been stellar with caddis and PEDs.  Use a size 14 or 16 elk hair, x-caddis, dancing caddis, goddard, or parachute PED.ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: You know we’ll refill your Kingfisher-label gink bottles for a buck, don’tcha?
