Blackfoot River Fishing Report – 8/5

Rock Creek Fishing Report - 3/27

L-DSC_0159

We’ll continue to ride this Spruce Moth wave until it dies out, which will inevitably happen, though hopefully not soon, because the fishing is great. Mornings and evenings are best, but out here we’re catching fish throughout the day when we hang some droppers. For dries use big elk hair caddis, spruce moth patterns, hoppers, Chernobyls, Stimulators, Rogue stones, half downs, bullet heads, parachute adams, and purple hazes. For nymphs use Pat’s rubber legs, princes, double beaded stones, micro stones, San Juan worms and batman nymphs. For streamers use big dark double bunnies, sculpzillas, mouthwashes, standard buggers, sparkle minnows and dark articulated patterns.

Weekend Fishing Tunes: Pele, Elephant

Instrumental indie rock from the Midwest. Very good. Find them on iTunes.

HATCHES: spruce moths, golden stones, PMDs, caddis

PATTERNS: Red or pink San Jaun worms in tandem with size 12 or 14 squirrel tail nymphs. Sculpzilla streamers, JJ’s specials, Prince nymphs, girdle bugs.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: You know we’ll refill your Kingfisher-label gink bottles for a buck, don’tcha?
