Blackfoot River Report: 4/30

DSCN0826Yeeeeeeah, you’ll want to wait a day or two for this one.  The lower river is running about 1800 cfs higher than it was 2 days ago – much above the 300 cfs increase in 24 hours we use as a fish stalling yardstick.  The upper river and the North Fork are all on the way down now which means the entire river should be back to being an option in a day or two.  If you do head up there today, down and dirty will be the name of the game with big stonefly nymphs, San Jauns or slow moving streamers right off the bottom.

1/2 OFF Fridays.  50% Off your 1st dozen nymphs and dries!  Every Friday – Every Week

HATCHES: Caddis, nemouras, March Browns, BWOs, a skwala or two on the lower river.

PATTERNS: Size 12 elk hairs, parachute Adams or size 14 royal Wulffs, Powell’s bunny sculpins, whitlock sculpines in black. Red or pink San Jaun worms in tandem with size 12 or 14 hare’s ear nymphs.
