Clark Fork Fishing Report – 3/22

Guided Fishing Clark Fork River

L-34

The Clark Fork through town has turned a little off color with the little rain and warm weather we’ve been having.  In town, the flows have been pretty stable, which has definitely given some consistency to the fishing.  on the upper sections, more of the same, the flows are sitting at 430 cfs up there which is very manageable for wade fishing.  If you’re heading up there, bring some skwalas and march browns along with some nymphs and streamers for your best luck.  For top water patterns use rogue Skwalas, Flush floating Skwalas, dark bodied chubbies, Parachute adams, parachute march browns, and March brown extended bodies.  For sub surface items use double beaded stones, Pat’s rubber legs, Prince nymphs, San Juan worms, egg patterns, and big dark streamers the more articulations the better.  Keep your gear tight to the banks and be thorough and you should find a fish or two up there.  The push of water through town was pretty minor, so things should clear up in a jiffy.
