Clark Fork Fishing Report – 3/27

L-25

Ice is coming off Browns Lake!

It’s not far from doing its spring thing, but so far, it has been pretty decent. The river is running more or less at historical average these days and for March. On warmer days there has been some later afternoon dryfly activity, especially on the lower river around Superior. You’ll see a few skwalas and some March Browns and the fish will too. Big prince nymphs and worm combos have been good medicine from about Clinton all the way to below Missoula. Slow moving buggers in smaller size 8s in olive, black or rust have been about as productive as anything but the color the slipperies want has been changing from day to day. Swap ’em out until you hit the recipe. Skwala dries should start to become more and more relevant once we get over the hump of the next push of cold.

***We will be closed on Monday March 28th for construction***
