Clark Fork Fishing Report – 4/9

stacy 1

The Clark Fork is seeing the biggest push of water in the area, which still hasn’t been that much to date. The flows went up about 300 cfs in the last day and a half which is a little more than expected but the clarity is still decent enough to fish. The bugs have definitely started popping in a big way with March browns, Grey Drakes, and Skwalas still coming off. For the drakes and march browns use a parachute adams, D&D cripples, GT emergers, rocky mtn. mints, purple hazes, and Brindle chutes. For the skwalas use a low-rider, missoula skwala, Gould’s half down, or a flush floater. For subsurface bugs, toss some egg patterns, San Juan worms, purple princes, Pat’s rubber legs, jigstones, Hares ears, and breadcrust nymphs. Streamers on the upper section above town have been very productive with sparkle minnows, sculpzillas, standard buggers, and lil’ kims.

HATCHES: March Browns, Skwalas, Great weather, baetis, grey drakes
