Clark Fork Fishing Report – 7/15

L-87

The Clark Fork is continuing to get better as the flows keep dropping. All the summer dry flies have shown up… including the mosquitoes, so be prepared. The best fishing has certainly been during the mornings and evenings with nymph fishing being the name of the game mid-day. But the chubby-dropper setup is hard to beat this time of year for an all day setup. For dries, use elk hair and Goddard caddis’ in the evening, attractor patterns, golden rogues, salmon rogues or Gould’s half downs for the morning and afternoon. For nymphs, use Pat’s rubber legs, micro stones, prince nymphs, double beaded stones, San Juan worms, caddis pupae, Pheasant tails and batman nymphs. For streamers, use big black and olive patterns fished tight to the banks.

HATCHES: caddis, golden stones, green drakes, pmds

FLIES: Prince nymphs, golden stones/nymphs, green drakes, streamers.
