Clark Fork Fishing Report – 8/12

L-DSCN5062

**Hoot Owl Restrictions are in play from Warm Springs till the mouth of Rock Creek**

The standard approach for the Clark Fork these days is the hopper-dropper. In the mornings and evenings you can find pods sipping on tiny mayflies, so give that a go for a chance at some larger fish. For dries, use elk hair and Goddard caddis’ in the evening, tricos, PMDs and PEDs, attractor patterns, golden rogues, chubby chernobyls for the morning and afternoon. For nymphs, use Pat’s rubber legs, sunken tricos, prince nymphs, double beaded stones, San Juan worms, caddis pupae, Pheasant tails and batman nymphs. For streamers, use big black and olive patterns fished tight to the banks.

HATCHES: caddis, hoppers, golden stones, tricos, pmds
