Clark Fork Fishing Report – 9/22

L-48

Looks like a perfect fall Clark Fork day is on tap today! The dry fly fishing has picked up considerably in recent days with fish rising to a variety of dries and hitting streamers much more consistently. Slow moving streamers in black, olive or brown have been working for us right out of the chute and taking some nice fish right up until the dries get going. Stretch to stretch it’s been varying a bit, but there has been pretty predictable surface action on over sized para Adams (a #10) and than also more refined sparkle or comparaduns in a 16. Gray Quiggly cripples and darker bodies button emergers are getting it done too, and the cripples and emerge patterns have been key for the end of day sippers.

HATCHES: October caddis, hoppers, nocturnal stones, tricos, baetis, mahogany duns
