Clark Fork Fishing Report – 9/9

L-DSCN4064

The bug action right before sundown has been bonkers. PEDs, tricos, caddis, hoppers, they’ll eat it all, and do so without a care in the world. Floating through town after work yesterday provided some of the best top water scenery I’ve seen all year. For dries, use rusty spinners in the evening, elk hair and Goddard caddis in the evening, tricos, mayfly duns and cripples, PMDs and PEDs, attractor patterns, rastaman golden, chubby chernobyls for the morning and afternoon. For nymphs, use Pat’s rubber legs, micro stones, prince nymphs, double beaded stones, San Juan worms, caddis pupae, Pheasant tails and big green machine nymphs. For streamers, use big black and olive patterns fished at the end of tail outs and in deeper holes.

HATCHES: caddis, hoppers, nocturnal stones, tricos, pmds

FLIES: Morris Hoppers, chubby chernobyls, caddis, Prince nymphs, golden stones/nymphs, streamers.

Other Info: The Kingfisher is the largest dealer of Simms Fishing Products in the Rocky Mountains.
