Clark Fork Report – 5/22

Bitterroot River Fishing Report - 3/21

REPORT:

Water levels are pretty much the same today as they were yesterday with the exception of down by St. Regis where it’s down another 600 cfs. Flows above Rock Creek continue to be mellow with good water clarity and willing fish.  Attractor dries and skwalas in the sunny weather and very fun streamer action in all weather.  The rest of the river has come into shape big time and there is enough clarity along the edges to make for solid fishing no matter which stretch you’re on.  The impending cooler weather won’t help your dry fly prospects much, but nymphs and streamers should rock their world. We’ve been having good luck on the black streamers nearly dead-drifted against rocky banks and there have been enough salmonfly adults on the lower river to motivate bigger fish to the surface in less than ideal conditions. We’d guide any stretch of the Clark today with confidence.
