Clark Fork Report – 5/24

DSC_0171

REPORT:

The flows just above town and then down by St. Regis have bumped just enough to put a hitch it the good fishing we’ve been seeing the past week or so on these sections.  The upper river is up a bit too, but the fish should still be willing to eat everything from skwala dries to fatty streamers.  The impending cooler weather won’t help your dry fly prospects much, but nymphs and streamers should rock their world on the upper river. The fish have turned from black to yellow or peach colored streamers as their preferred offering.

1/2 OFF Fridays.  50% Off your 1st dozen nymphs and dries!  Every Friday – Every Week

HATCHES: Salmonflies, drakes, caddis, baetis.

FLIES: Big button emergers or parachute patterns for the March browns, standard skwala junk with 18″ droppers. Big prince nymphs, Peacock double beads, Griffith’s gnats and zebra midges on sunny days, slow moving crystal buggers or bunny junk in #8s that’re peach or yellow, double dutch skwala, size 18 adams or purple haze.

Other Info: Buy a bottle of Kingfisher brand fly floatant and we’ll refill it for you for 1 measly dollar all year long!
