Clark Fork Report – 5/27

REPORT:

The lower river down around Superior and St. Regis is your best option today . . and it’s not a bad option either.  The upper river is dealing with a series of bumps that are making the fishing less than what it was by a ways.  Give this section another day or two and it’ll be a different story.  Down on the lower river, dark streamers and BIG attractor/dropper rigs along the softer water on the banks has been pretty consistent for us.  If the sun pops out in the afternoon, salmonfly dries (even though you’re not likely to see any naturals) will motivate fatties to the surface.  It’s big water down here so keep your eye on the ball!

1/2 OFF Fridays.  50% Off your 1st dozen nymphs and dries!  Every Friday – Every Week

HATCHES: Salmonflies, drakes, caddis, baetis, even a few hoppers on the warm afternoons.

FLIES: Big button emergers or parachute patterns for the March browns, standard stonefly attractor junk with 18″ droppers. Big prince nymphs, Peacock double beads, Griffith’s gnats and zebra midges on sunny days, slow moving crystal buggers or bunny junk in #8s that’re peach or yellow, double dutch skwala, size 18 adams or purple haze.

Other Info: Buy a bottle of Kingfisher brand fly floatant and we’ll refill it for you for 1 measly dollar all year long!
