REPORT:
The uppermost sections of the Clark are stable from a flow perspective and should be fishing well. Golden stones, caddis, some salmonflies and bigger mayflies will all motivate fish to the surface midday. Good evening caddis fishing too. Darker bodied streamers in the bright sun have been very effective up top as well. The lower river is dropping hard again and will fish well today, better tomorrow and even better by week’s end. There are hatches of giant goldens and salmonflies on the lower river, as well as an evening caddis hatch that should keep things interesting. The green drakes are beginning to show up as well and will be key in the very near future. Hang a red San Juan 20″ under your big dries to keep things even more interesting. The sections through town and just below are still off their game a bit but should recover nicely by the weekend.
