Clark Fork Report – 7/6

DSCN4208REPORT:

If the heat keeps up as predicted, the decent midday fishing we’re having now will become a fond memory, get it while you can.   The evening caddis hatch remains consistent and is providing some of the best fishing of the day.  PMDs and opportunistic feeding on attractors will keep the surface action pretty good starting at first light.  With daytime highs finally moderating, the heat of the day fishing has gotten better than it was during the inferno.  Hoppers, ants, and various attractors with deep and smaller purple or peacock droppers will keep you in fish here and there all day long.  The uppermost river is shedding algae in a big way and making this a non option. It’s been better the farther down you go.
