Mandatory Drought Closure – 2 PM to Midnight

Hoot owl restrictions will go into effect 07/25/13 for the Clark Fork River from its confluence with the Bitterroot River to its confluence with the Flathead River. There will be no fishing on this stretch of the river from 2pm to midnight until further notice.

Today could be the day you’ve been waiting for on the Clark.  The overcast and humid conditions will go a long way towards getting the fish looking to the surface.  PMDs and delayed trico action in the morning and early afternoon will be the goods.  You should also have decent streamer fishing with olive or black bugger type stuff.  Water temps have dropped considerably over the last 24 hours and the lower river peaked at 68 degrees.  FWP isn’t even considering easing fishing restrictions until the 15th, so make sure you’re planing to be off the water (or at least no longer fishing) by 2 p.m.
