Hoot Owl restrictions are no longer in effect for the Clark Fork river.
Looks like another tailor made Clark Fork day on tap today with the weekend looking good as well with the potential cloud cover. Expect to have some company here these days due to the low water on the ‘root and the total closure on the Blackfoot. The tricos are still going great guns in the morning with the spinner fall starting around 10. Hopper/attractor (terestrials in general . .bees, spruce moths, etc) dropper rigs midday have been working well and will only work better in the clouds. Look for the fish to be WAY more willing to come to the surface with the lack of bright sunlight. If you stay out until evening, caddis are still motivating the fatties although we’re getting lots of fish using size 16 or 18 red humpies or royal Wulffs during the hatch. Look for mayfly stuff like purple hazes and comparaduns in 14s to work in the clouds too. The high water temp in Superior last night was 67.
