REPORTS:
The Clark Fork is dropping and stabilizing from the little bump of Pre-run-off water we got last week. The flow in town is right around 5300 cfs, and the river is still off color and high. Nymphing and streamers are still turning fish though. Look for back channels and braids. These spots have been hiding some big fish. Olive or black streamers are working well for the big guys, but a well presented size 18 parachute adams over their head will be hard to resist if the bugs and fish cooperate.
HATCHES: midges, capnias
FLIES: Small prince nymphs, bacon and egg combos (San Juans in tandem with an egg patter), Griffith’s gnats and zebra midges on sunny days, slow moving or jigged rabbit streamers in front of sighted pike.
Other Info: The Kingfisher is the largest dealer of Simms Fishing Products in the Rocky Mountains.
