Clark Fork River Fishing Report – 4/18

Simms Wading Boots

Pike Fishing Missoula

Man oh man, with weather and conditions like this you should definitely head out today.  The Clark Fork’s flows have been steadily dropping through the week and is maintaining really good clarity.  The top water action sounds like it finally has hit a crescendo with this awesome weather.  You can expect some good March brown and Skwala action with the warmer temps in the afternoon. For the skwalas and March browns use a Parachute adams, rogue skwala, carnage skwala, Gould’s half down, GT emerger, Grey cripple, Parachute Pheasant tail, or a purple haze. For subsurface bugs, toss some egg patterns, San Juan worms, Olive double beaded stones, Pat’s rubber legs, Micro stones, Hares ears, and prince nymphs. Streamers on the upper section above town have been very productive with sparkle minnows, sculpzillas, standard buggers, and yellow yummies.
