Clark Fork River Fishing Report – 4/21

L-DSCN2037

The Clark Fork is seeing the biggest push of water in the area, which still hasn’t been that much to date.  The flows went up about 300 cfs in the last day and a half which is a little more than expected but the clarity is still decent enough to fish.  The bugs have definitely started popping in a big way with March browns, Grey Drakes, and Skwalas still coming off.  For the drakes and March browns use a Parachute adams, grey drake extended bodys, GT emergers, Brendelelshutzkedu parachutes, purple hazes, and Purple cripples.  For the skwalas use a  rogue skwala, carnage skwala, Gould’s half down, or a flush floater. For subsurface bugs, toss some egg patterns, San Juan worms, Olive double beaded stones, Pat’s rubber legs, Micro stones, Hares ears, and prince nymphs. Streamers on the upper section above town have been very productive with sparkle minnows, sculpzillas, standard buggers, and yellow yummies.

HATCHES: March Browns, Skwalas, Great weather, grey drakes
