Clark Fork River Fishing Report – 4/28

Blackfoot River Fishing Report - 4/21

The Clark Fork is seeing the same trend that all our rivers are seeing with a drop in flows from the weekend.  Today’s weather will start to change that again with a forecast high close to 80 degrees.  The lower river is still over 10,000cfs so if you’re looking to head out today I would consider fishing above town.  The best fishing has definitely been in the back and side channels as well as any spring seeps but the main stem hasn’t been bad.  Fishing streamers and tandem nymph rigs will be your best bet with Pheasant tails, Egg patterns, San Juan worms, Double beaded stones, Pat’s rubber legs, Red fox squirrels, and hares ear nymphs. For streamers use flash fries, sparkle minnows, yellow yummies, sculpzillas, and mouthwashes.  You may still see some March browns, drakes, and skwalas popping on top, so be prepared with some parachute adams, Gould’s half downs, purple hazes, and olive chubbies.

HATCHES: March Browns, Skwalas, grey drakes
