Clark Fork River Fishing Report – 5/15

Clark Fork River Fishing Report - 4/12

The Clark Fork is Staying pretty stable until you get below the Bitterroot confluence.  The flows are starting to see a little bump below town, but the fishing above should definitely be worth your while.  Dry dropper rigs and tandem nymph rigs should be your best bet, but word on the street is they’re starting to see salmonflies popping up there too.  If that’s the case a big rogue salmon fly or a sofa pillow should work well. If you see any other top water, using a big parachute adams for the bigger mayflies coming off should get you covered.  Otherwise, olive and purple chubbies, extended body drakes, and purple hazes have been working well. For subsurface patterns use prince nymphs, Pheasant tails, San Juan worms, Double beaded stones, Pat’s rubber legs, Red fox squirrels, and hares ear nymphs. If you’re looking for some bigger fish, streamers have been the name of the game. Use Krelex minnows, sparkle minnows, two tone buggers, and double bunnies.

HATCHES: March Browns, Skwalas, grey drakes
