Clark Fork River Fishing Report – 6/29

L-DSCN5062

The Clark Fork seems to have stabilized itself after the rain we saw during the latter half of the week. It’d be nice to see the lower end drop below 20,000cfs, which might pick the fishing up in a good way. We’re on the cusp of some awesome Clark Fork fishing, and those with the proper gumption might be able to get it now. If you see golden stones about, use a big yellow or orange chubby Chernobyl, golden rogues, salmon rogues or Gould’s half downs. For nymphs, use Pat’s rubber legs, micro stones, prince nymphs, double beaded stones, San Juan worms, caddis pupae, Pheasant tails and batman nymphs.  For streamers, use big black and olive patterns fished tight to the banks.
