The Clark Fork still has a lot of improving to do before the main sections really start fishing again. The flow above town is sitting at 12,500 cfs and will probably start to rise a little again before it really starts to drop. If you don’t have a lot of other options, you can head to the upper section or just below clean running tributaries, you should be able to find a couple fish. Tossing nymphs or ripping streamers is going to be your best bet with the poor clarity. For streamers use a JJ’s special, olive or tan super buggers, sculpzillas, standard buggers or an articulated pattern. The nymphs on the menu for today are pheasant tails, black bodied stone flies, pat’s rubber legs, San Juan Worms and little black micro stones. If you’re fishing below a clean running tributary, keep your bugs in the dirty/clean seam and work all the water for your best luck.
