Clark Fork River Fishing Report – 7/6

Guided Float trips on the Missouri with The Kingfisher Fly Shop

Although still higher than average flows for this time of year, the Clark Fork is really coming in to shape. With the upper river clearing up, and the lower river definitely below 20,000cfs, we could see some solid early summer fishing this coming week. The caddis are thick down on Fish Creek, so the main river should follow suit. For dries, use elk hair and Goddard caddis, attractor patterns, golden rogues, salmon rogues or Gould’s half downs. For nymphs, use Pat’s rubber legs, micro stones, prince nymphs, double beaded stones, San Juan worms, caddis pupae, Pheasant tails and batman nymphs.  For streamers, use big black and olive patterns fished tight to the banks.
