Clarkfork River Report – 4/12

REPORTS:
Kinda nice when all the rivers finally lose the ‘tude and start cooperating all at once. That’s the deal here locally right now. In keeping with the other options, the Clark is giving up some very good fishing. The best of it continues to be WAY up high, or down low towards Forest Grove. The river though town here has been slow in the mornings but giving up some very good mid afternoon streamer fishing from a boat. It’s a small window, however, and for an entire day of good fishing, go high or low. Olive, black or rootbeer buggers are golden. To a lesser degree, bunnies of the same color. Size 8 or 10 princes under an indicator in tandem with a red worm and then OVERSIZED parachute mayflies of about any variety will work too. There have been good numbers of fish hunting the decent numbers of adult skwalas flying around on the river on warmer afternoons. It’s on Leon!

HATCHES: Skwalas, March browns, caddis, baetis, nemouras.

FLIES: Big button emergers or parachute patterns for the March browns, standard skwala junk with 18″ droppers. Big prince nymphs, Peacock double beads, Griffith’s gnats and zebra midges on sunny days, slow moving crystal buggers or bunny junk in #8s that’re black, olive or rust, double dutch skwala, size 18 adams or purple haze

Other Info: You will NEVER be oversold at The Kingfisher.
