Missouri Report – 7/13

DSCN4984 Good stuff nearly all day long these days with tricos in full swing right now and good evening caddis to round out the day.  The best dryfly action is early trico/caddis stuff, then again in the evening when the caddis do their repeat performance.  If you find yourself not having luck on top midday, the nymphing continues to be stellar with a wide variety of tailwater tandem rigs.  We’re seeing enough fish rising throughout the day, however, to keep things interesting with a #14 or 16 cripple or comparadun. Sometimes 6x combined with QUIET casts/drifts is the answer.  If you’re after numbers, it’s still tough to beat a tandem rig with the usual tailwater suspects.
