The moderating daytime highs are helping to keep the fish looking up a bit more and with tricos in full swing right now and good afternoon caddis activity to boot, your prospects are pretty good. The best dryfly action right now is early trio stuff, then again in the evening when the caddis do their thing. If you find yourself not having luck on top midday, the nymphing continues to be stellar with a wide variety of tailwater tandem rigs. We’re seeing enough fish rising throughout the day, however, to keep things interesting with a #14 cripple or comparadun. The streamer fishing is okay, but would be helped by some cloud cover. If you are after numbers, it’s still tough to beat a tandem rig with the usual tailwater suspects.
