Missouri River Fishing Report – 10/25

Simms Fishing Gear

It seems like everything is working out on the Missouri right now. The techniques turning the most fish are standard nymphing and stripping (or dead-drifting) streamers. Dry fly action is also good. It’s hard to go wrong out here. For dry flies, use cripples, standard Adams parachutes, midge clusters, elk hair caddis, parachute baetis, baetis button emergers, and small flying ants. For subsurface, stick with sow bugs, czech nymphs, caddis pupae, scuds, small PTs, lightning bugs and micro mayflies. For streamers, throw something flashy, Coffee’s sparkle minnow, J.J.’s Special, Sex Dungeons.
