Missouri River Fishing Report – 3/17

L-GOPR0424

The Missouri is holding strong with its flows despite the rain that we saw. They’re saying just a light cloud cover with a slight chance of rain and wind. You should see some decent midge fishing on top, but you can count on streamers and nymphs to work for sure. For nymphs use Blood midges, zebra midges, small pheasant tails, and Serendipity’s. If you see anything on top toss out some Griffiths gnats, renegades, and midge clusters. Streamers are turning heads too with standard buggers, dalai lamas, and Sculpzillas. With weekends like the one we have coming up, being able to toss some heavy bugs in the wind can make or break your day, so definitely be prepared. Bring a rain jacket.
