Missouri River Fishing Report – 5/6

L-3
REPORTS: Beginning in April, once a week we will post a brief description of a rig we saw during the previous week that had one of our Kingfisher stickers on the window. When you recognize it as being your car described in our hatch report, stop into the shop and pick out 2 dozen nymphs or dries on us!!The Missouri is holding on for the rest of the state and still fishing!  the flow is holding stable at 8600 cfs with decent clarity.  The bugs on the menu are small red and pink scuds, sow bugs, RS2′s, Ray-Charles and streamers.  The temps are cooling down for the rest of the week so you can expect the flows to hold stable if you head over.  If you see the little spring baetis, use a smaller parachute pattern around a size 16 or 18.  With the higher flows, it’s important to mess around a little with the depth of your strike indicator.  Getting to the right depth can make all the difference in the world this time of year.

If you own and iPad 1 or 2, we have 6 MFC original iPad covers to give away. The first people through the door get’em!!! If you come in with a kingfisher tattoo on your forehead you can have two!!!HATCHES: midges

FLIES: Griffith’s gnats 16-20, lighting bugs, RS2, p-tails, scuds, Pink Amex, Pink Scuds, Glow BugsADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Probably one of the best river options in the state right now. Tailwater happiness!
