Missouri River Fishing Report – 6/12

Bitterroot Fishing Report - 4/3

It’s time for dry flies.  The flow below Holter has dropped dramatically down too 4500 cfs making it a viable option for wade fisherman and floaters.  Standard Missouri nymphing is the best bet, but there have been pods of fish on all stretches of the river eating BWOs and caddis. For dry flies, we’re looking at small purple hazes, midge clusters, elk hair caddis, parachute baetis, baetis button emergers and small flying ants. For subsurface, stick with sow bugs, czech nymphs, caddis pupae, scuds, small PTs and lightning bugs.  As the other rivers in the state swing back into shape finally, you can expect the traffic to fall off quite a bit as people find there way back to there local waters.  If you weren’t digging the crowds, now may be a good time for you.
