Beginning in April, once a week we will post a brief description of a rig we saw during the previous week that had one of our Kingfisher stickers on the window. When you recognize it as being your car described in our hatch report, stop into the shop and pick out 2 dozen nymphs or dries on us!!The Missouri took a steep drop yesterday back down to 9,000 cfs and is going to half to stabilize before the fishing really picks up again. You can still stick fish, but it’s by no means the Missouri you count on. If you can swing it, wait another day before you head over. Otherwise for your best luck stick to nymphs, but don’t be afraid to throw some caddis dries if you see them flying around. The bugs hatching right now are March browns, caddis and baetis. Parachute adams in various sizes along with other march brown patterns have been working well along with caddis in the evening. Subsurface patterns are small red and pink scuds, RS2′s, Ray-Charles, pheasant tails, lightning bugs, caddis pupae and streamers.Weekend Fishing Tunes: The Lil’ Smokies, The Lil’ Smokies Awesome bluegrass/folk from right here in Missoula.
