The boat traffic has definitely slowed down over here with the arrival of the summer algae.  The fishing can be a little tricky in these conditions but still manageable. If you fish the spill way of the damn, you can avoid most of the algae.  Otherwise, expect to be fishing tiny dries to pods of rising fish to avoid getting caught up in the crap.  For dry flies, we’re looking at tricos, PMD cripples, standard Adams parachutes, midge clusters, elk hair caddis, parachute baetis, baetis button emergers, yellow sallies, and small flying ants. For subsurface, stick with sow bugs, czech nymphs, caddis pupae, scuds, small PTs, lightning bugs and micro marflies. For streamers use black, olive or brown sculpzillas, woolhead sculpins, standard buggers and JJ’s specials.
