Missouri River Fishing Report – 8/21

Missouri River Fishing Report - 4/12

Hoot Owl Restrictions have been put in place for the Dearborn, Smith, and Sun rivers.

Tricos are still your best bet for escaping the weeds and algae, but hoppers are just getting started as well.  Evenings and mornings are going to be your most consistent dry fly fishing, but hooking up mid day is still possible between the weeds.  For dry flies, use PMD cripples, standard Adams parachutes, midge clusters, elk hair caddis, parachute baetis, baetis button emergers, yellow sallies, small flying ants, and hoppers. For subsurface, stick with sow bugs, czech nymphs, caddis pupae, scuds, small PTs, lightning bugs and micro marflies. For streamers use black, olive or brown sculpzillas, woolhead sculpins, standard buggers and JJ’s specials.
