Rock Creek Fishing Report – 10/24

L-97

Today and tomorrow should continue to be mahogany bliss, but as temperatures plummet end of the week, your dry fly options will become much more limited both in terms of patterns and time-frame. For now, though, parachutes in darker colors, D&D cripples in 14s, comparaduns . . .all will work. Subsurface is still the way to go for big numbers (and big fish lately too), and lots of trout and whities will like up to eat a variety of nymphs from Pats’s rubberleg stone to p-tails in a broad size range. Roe colored eggs alongside a red San Juan is always a good bet this time of year too.

HATCHES: Midges, baetis, mahoganies, and occasional October Caddis
