Rock Creek Fishing Report – 10/5

l-105

Rock Creek is on the rise from all the rain we have been getting but, should still fish pretty well. Streamer fishing will be the ticket! The most consistent dry fly action for us lately, has been on the upper river. Going around the long way through Pburg makes for a nice drive through good scenery and will keep your fillings and motor mounts in place by allowing you to avoid the length of RC road. The streamer fishing up here has been very good recently, so if that’s your deal, your in luck. Smaller yellow or chartreuse patterns like Clousers or smaller buggers have been doing well. If you’re going the nymph route, better plan on mixing it up until you find what’s working on any given day, it’s been inconsistent to say the least. We’ve been having good luck on overcast days with Quigly or Lawson cripples in gray or brown. Button emergers in a 14 have been a good bug as well. On actively rising fish, a good drag-free cast with nearly any #14 mayfly will usually get the look..
