Rock Creek Fishing Report – 3/22

L-27

Rock Creek is bouncing between 250 – 300 cfs which is just barely above the historic average.  The clarity is good and the water temps, along with the fishing, are starting to heat up more.  Tandem nymph rigs are still the most productive with dries and streamers right behind.  Fish San Juan worms, Peacock double beaded stones, tiny prince nymphs and egg patterns in tandem.  If you’re throwing streamers, work all the obvious water with dark colored patterns.  For top water patterns be prepared with March browns, Skwalas, and Midges.  With the flows sitting where they are, you can expect the fish to be in all their normal holds.  So take your time and be thorough when working your way upstream.  If you plan on fishing the upper sections keep in mind the road is still in poor condition and you’ll save time driving in from the top.
