Rock Creek Fishing Report – 3/27

L-41

Ice is coming off Browns Lake!

Water clarity is good up here and water levels are reasonable for good wading although the stakes are much higher if you go swimming in this weather – be careful it’s cold! We’ve been having decent fishing all the way from Valley of the Moon to Gillies bridge with a small dryfly window that’s consistent from about 2 to 3:30. Before or after that, you’ll definitely do better with nymph rigs which utilize a variety of stonefly and mayfly patterns ranging from larger Bitch Creek type stuff down to size 18 brassies. This really is one of the most effective times for smaller, slower moving streamers too. Stick to the slower water and keep your retrieves slow and smooth. If you plan on fishing the upper sections keep in mind the road is still in poor condition and you’ll save time driving in from the top.

***We will be closed on Monday March 28th for construction***
