Rock Creek Fishing Report – 3/3

Salmon Flies on Rock Creek kingfisher Fly Shop

Guided Float trips on the Missouri with The Kingfisher Fly Shop

Well, if you’re reading this you probably survived February. Which means you’re definitely ready for some March fishing.  Looking at the weather going forward, we’re going to have a little bit more cold weather before it warms up again mid next week.  With the approaching spring weather, you can expect to see the arrival of all the spring favorites.  Better get the finishing touches done on those nemoura and skwala patterns cause it’s gonna soon!  if you’re looking to get out you can expect tandem nymph rigs to work best for you.  Pat’s rubber legs, pheasant tails, San Juan worms, double beaded stones, fast water princes, and standard prince nymphs should all work well underneath.  The flow at the bottom is running a clear 345 cfs and shouldn’t change much for the rest of the week.

HATCHES: Midges, ice

FLIES: Prince nymphs, tiny parachute adams, stonefly nymphs, streamers.
