Rock Creek Fishing Report – 3/31

L-31

Rock Creek’s flows are hanging around 250 and will continue to see slight bumps and drops as the spring weather commences with decent clarity.  The weather for the next couple days is supposed to be pretty decent so expect to see some skwalas and march browns hatching.  For the march browns bring some size 14 parachute adams, GT emergers, and march brown extended bodies for fishing on top.  For the skwalas use Gould’s half downs, Flush floaters, peacock Barr flies, and carnage skwalas.  For subsurface patterns use bigger pheasant tails, olive double beaded stones, olive or black pat’s rubber legs, Hare’s ear nymphs, San Juan worms, and olive micro stones.  The streamers fishing has been pretty decent too. Sulpzillas, standard buggers, and flash minnows have been doing the best.  It sounds like the whole river from top to bottom is fishing well so take your pick of stretches to fish.
