Rock Creek Fishing Report – 4/25

L-BR-L-24

The Flows up here have really taken off over the last couple days.  With the rain on tap, it’s going to be a few days before this river really starts fishing again.  You can still find workable water close to the banks and in the side channels but the main stem is pushing some milky water for sure.  The flow at the bottom is just above 1000cfs.  If you do head up here bring some March brown and drake dries but tandem nymph rigs should be a far more productive bet. For nymphs use pheasant tails, hares ears, double beaded stones, egg patterns, Pat’s rubber legs, micro stones, prince nymphs, and San Juan worms.  Like I said before, when the water level goes up like this, the fish tend to displace towards the banks and up into the side channels, so look for’em there and you should find a fish or two.

HATCHES: Midges, March Browns, Skwalas, and Grey Drakes
