Rock Creek Fishing Report – 4/27

Rock Creek has stabilized at 990 cfs and is a bit dirty. The best fishing has been with nymphs thrown towards the banks. Dry fly opportunities will be more frequent the lower it drops. Walking the banks and looking for pocket water and deeper holes has been the best approach, but the lower flows up high should give you some better wading options. For nymphs use pheasant tails, hares ears, pearl green lightning bugs, purple princes, Pat’s rubber legs, sparkle stones, prince nymphs, and San Juan worms. Your best shot at dry fly fishing will be on any side channels or any big eddies.

HATCHES: baetis, March browns, grey drakes, skwalas
